Expert Cycling Knowledge from Crazy Horse Bike Workshop
Crazy Horse Bike Workshop, a mere minute’s walk from Tooting Bec Station, has a philosophy: “We love bikes. We sell bikes. We fix bikes.”
Gary Coleman set up Crazy Horse in 2008, building on his lifelong love for cycling, fuelled from an early age after his mother bought him a Carlton Racer (from a secondhand shop on the very row that Crazy Horse now occupies).
Gary and Abdool, a fellow bicycle devotee, don’t only fix bicycles, they also repair skateboards, scooters, prams and buggies – or as Gary says. “We fix anything with a wheel that hasn’t got an internal combustion engine!”
Gary is a Cytech 3 qualified mechanic and is also qualified in Shimano Di2 and Campagnolo EPS electronic shifting systems. He’s also Crazy Horse’s in-house Bike Fit specialist.
Abdool has 30 years experience as a bicycle mechanic, so there's not much he doesn't know about bicycle repair! Abdool, like Gary, is also qualified in Shimanao Di2 and Campagnolo EPS shifting systems. With such a wealth of bike knowledge, Gary and Abdool are both sticklers for detail and won't return a repaired bike to a customer until they’re 100% happy with it.
If you’re after a new bicycle, Gary and his team will happily talk you through the best one for you, taking into account all your needs (whilst giving you advice on how to properly maintain it). They stock everything you require to take care of your bike, as well as any accessories, tools, lights and cycling attire that you need.
Cycling keeps you fit and saves you money (as the Tooting Daily PRSS editor knows well). It’s low impact, there are no gym fees and you save on travel costs. Read more about the health, financial and environmental costs here – Gary told us the annual cost of a bicycle compared to public transport, and the difference is eye-opening!
