Tooting's Scrapstore bristles with community activity!

Tooting's Scrapstore bristles with community activity!

| by Tooting Newsie | Posted in News

Work and Play Scrapstore – the re-use charity in Tooting – has a busy calendar of community events during November, kicking off tonight with a practical workshop for adults and children on how to take the plastic out of Christmas at Sprout Arts (7-9pm).

Other upcoming events include:

  • November 14th: add your hopes and dreams to the Aspirations Catcher mural outside Scrapstore, 12-4pm. Local artist Jayson Singh has created a giant community sculpture for the event.
  • November 14th: shopping experience for 50 students from Kingston College (and on December 5th for fashion and textile students from UCA Epsom College).
  • November 26th: Christmas crafts for Wandsworth childminders and tots under four at the Early Years Centre.
  • November 30th: visit their Camberwell Arts Market stall, 12noon-5pm under the cover of the Butterfly Walk Arcade in Camberwell.  They’ll be selling gorgeous gifts, Christmas decorations, craft packs, craft materials and so much more.

Work and Play Scrapstore stages bespoke workshops for groups of up to ten at the Scrapstore premises or for larger numbers at a venue of your choice. They are perfect for a team-building activity or for tutors to want to bring along a group of students on a particular course. They can demonstrate re-use, teach an artistic skill and for students to enjoy a shopping experience. Fees are approximately £10-12 per head.

Do get in touch with them if you are interested in running an event at Scrapstore. For more events, check out our events page on their website.
