Royal Mahal may be less than a month old after its rebrand from Spice Village Tooting, but the popular and famous corner location has been serving delicious Indian & Pakistani food in Tooting since 2004.

Although the restaurant now has a new name, it's still very much business as usual. Restaurant Director, Arfan Javid, tells us more:
"Over the last decade having owned and managed several different food establishments, myself and fellow founders (Tabassum Zia, Kashif Zia & Adil Javid) have been sharing our deep passion, knowledge and love of food with the people of Tooting – and we're excited to continue this as Royal Mahal!

“Our Head Chef is from the foodie capital of the world – Lahore in Pakistan! He has huge experience in creating recipes that keep our customers coming back – dishes that have proved so popular amongst locals down the years, including our famous masala fish and legendary lamb chops. We have gone for a new look menu keeping many of our classic dishes, while adding some new crowd pleasing items such as Dynamite Prawn & Chicken, Masala chips, Milkshakes and Signature Kerahi’s – many of which have been suggested and requested by our customers. Most of our items on the menu originate from South Asia, but we also have dishes like Chilli Mogo which originate from East Africa.

"After feedback from the local community, we chose the name Royal Mahal because we felt it goes perfectly with the look, feel and ambience of the restaurant. Mahal means palace – we want our palatial backdrop to be a perfect fit for all occasions. We all strongly believe that food tastes the best when shared with those around you – and to do this in style – our interiors were designed by an expert in Persian design.

"So it really is business as usual here at Royal Mahal, with the same level of passion and commitment to serving amazing food to the people of South London as we have had since we first opened our doors!"

Royal Mahal is located at 32-36 Upper Tooting Rd, Tooting Bec, London SW17 7PD. Open Monday - Thursday, 12pm-10pm, Friday, 2pm-10pm, Saturday & Sunday, 9am-10pm, with delivery 7 days a week until Midnight.
