The hugely successful Sweeney Todd produced by Tooting Arts Club, soon to be re-staged (complete with Harrington’s Pie Shop) in the West End, is up for two awards at The Off West End Theatre Awards (also know as The Offies)!

The Offies recognise and celebrate the excellence, innovation and ingenuity of independent theatres across London. They cover a calendar year with the winners being announced in the spring of the following year. The point of the awards is to help raise the profile and status of independent theatres in London by giving them greater power to promote their work individually and collectively and to reward the new talent that they nurture which is essential to the future of the theatre industry.

Sweeney Todd is up for Best Musical Production and Tooting Arts Club producer Rachel Edwards has been nominated for Best Producer. You can follow the results as they’re announced on Sunday 22nd February between 5pm and 8pm – just before the Oscars!

You can find the full list of nominees here and more information about the Offies here.
