Celebrating the successes of mental health nurses on International Nurses’ Day
South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) is proud to support International Nurses’ Day today, sending a message of appreciation to all mental health nurses – and all nurses who work tirelessly across the world.
The Trust, which provides mental health services across south west London, includes inspirational nurses like:
Lead Nurse Katie Whitewood, at the Wandsworth Behaviour and Communication Support Service, who has been awarded a Fellowship on Health Education England's prestigious Older Person's Nurse Fellowship Programme.
Anita Winfield, Clinical Nurse Specialist at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust, who was shortlisted for the Student Nursing Times Mentor of the Year Award.
Felicity Mayer, Staff Nurse on Lilacs Ward and Tiffany Yerby, Charge Nurse on Aquarius Ward, who have gained places on the highly competitive and prestigious Kings College National Institute for Health Research, Masters in Clinical Research programme, adding to the three other Trust nurses on these funded programmes.
All these nurses join the hundreds of others working across the Trust providing exceptional care and invaluable support.
Catherine Gamble, Head of Academic Nursing/Consultant Nurse at SWLSTG and Associate Clinical Director South London Health Innovation Network said: “I am very proud of our nurses who go above and beyond their roles; they are extremely hard working and willing to go the extra mile.
“Nursing is very rewarding but can be physically and emotionally draining. This is why I am so proud to celebrate International Nurses’ Day and highlight all the work they do and how much we appreciate them! “
Andrew Clough, Interim Director of Nursing at the Trust said: “Nurses are the backbone of our services, and we are rightly proud of what they achieve and accomplish day in and day out. I am very pleased to support International Nurses’ Day this year and the successes of all our nurses, and look forward to celebrating further successes next year.”
