Are YOU a Top Tooting Cook?

Transition Town Tooting’s Top Tooting Cook Competition is set to be the hardest fought yet!

Calling Local Cooks! On September 12th of 2015, Top Tooting Cook competitors will get the chance to select their ingredients from fruit and vegetables donated by Tooting growers, (or using those you’ve grown yourself) before cooking something overnight to enter into Sunday's grand cooking fiesta at the 2015 TOOTING FOODIVAL!

With loads of great prizes, free entry and your chance to be in the Foodival 2015 booklet and 2016 recipe book, what have you got to lose?

How to get involved

As a restaurant, chef or individual, you can provide a cooked vegetarian dish (minimum 4 servings) that will be served up at the Foodival on the 13th of September. Transition Town Tooting will provide you with the raw locally sourced vegetables you will need, unless you grow & use your own.

Event Director Malsara Thorne says, “Foodival is Transition Town Tooting's sustainable celebration of local seasonal growing, local cooking and all things food. It’s a fun way of taking small steps to reduce our impact on the planet. Food and water are essential to our lives, but both have huge impact on CO2 emissions. By growing and buying local food, we create a more sustainable economy and reduce the carbon footprint of transporting goods from afar. In its 8th year, Foodival highlights how easy it is to use locally produced and sourced food.”

As well as delicious dishes to sample at Foodival, there will also be music, games & much more. Keep an eye on the Foodival blog for the latest information.

For details, and to register by September 7th, please contact Belinda at transitiontowntooting@gmail.com putting TTC in the subject line.

Best of luck to all the Tooting cooks!
