Tooting is to get a taste for Tea Cocktails from a new pop-up cocktail bar ‘TEA and ALCOHOL’! Yes that’s TEA and ALCOHOL, using the finest loose leaf teas.

The cocktail bar will be serving tea cocktails for 13 nights in December between the 9th and 23rd in Tooting Broadway.

TEA and ALCOHOL is being brought to London for the second time by Albion Tea, the founders of crowdfunding success story - Brew, the Tea Pub, which will open in Tooting later in 2017.

This pop-up will give local residents a taste of the tea cocktails to come and what their new Tea Pub will offer. Cocktails such as Lapsang Old Fashiond’s and English Breakfast Martinis as well as winter warmers like hot Ceylon Whiskey Toddies and Boozy Masala Chais will all be on the menu, alongside small plates of food, served at the former Tooting Italian at 114 Tooting High Street.

Albion Tea, the company behind the pop-up, is fighting to restore pride to our national drink by converting you to loose-leaf tea. Following the first TEA and ALCOHOL, Albion Tea has led a highly successful crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, which raised over £180,000. TEA and ALCOHOL use the finest teas for taste and in doing so champion smallholder growers like Pranab Nath from Assam, India.

The founder of Albion Tea, Alex Holland, who previously initiated and led the campaign to prevent the demolition of Brixton Market in 2008-2010. This then then led him in to becoming a Labour Councillor for Brixton Hill in 2010-4 and now into starting his own company, says  “I am delighted to be bringing TEA and ALCOHOL to Tooting.

This will be a great opportunity for locals to come out and sample our Tea Cocktails and get to know our products so they will know what to expect when Brew, the Tea Pub arrives later in 2017.”

The only question left is, when will you get drunk on tea this December?
