CARAS is a winner in the 2016 Aviva Community Fund with their project ‘Gardens of Refuge’.

CARAS, a charity based in Tooting since 2002, welcomes, values and supports those who have sought refuge in the UK, building a community in which refugees and asylum seekers can flourish.

Picking up from the achievements of ‘Rooting in Tooting’, CARAS will be working with refugees living in and around Tooting to improve the green spaces around the area, in partnership with Transition Town Tooting and The Grange Norfolk.

CARAS and Transition Town Tooting attended a Parliamentary Reception on the 23rd of January, to discuss the importance of community with other winners and Members of Parliament.
