Tooting-based Business Launchpad are on the lookout for the right person to manage their new ‘Digilab’ facility, based out of the Trident Business Centre on Bickersteth Road.

Digilab is an exciting new community-based digital hub for local creative coders, makers, hardware enthusiasts and game developers of all ages.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The Digilab Manager will have all strategic and operational responsibility of Digilab Tooting.  He/she will also be thoroughly committed to Business Launchpad’s values. All candidates should have proven leadership, management, and program development experience as well as proven experience in programs that work with school-age youth.

Operations Manager and CEO.

Will work closely in a team environment with the Business Launchpad and Trident Business Centre team.

Voluntary Youth Project Workers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Concrete, demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

• At least 1 years’ experience working in a management position in a program or organization serving children or youth.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse staff, parents and community members.
• Ability to implement and supervise a positive learning environment while incorporating academic enrichment programming.
• A demonstrable interest and passion for practical digital technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
• Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to planning.
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
• Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
• Have a current Enhanced DBS check or willing to have one carried out.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop strategies and implementation plans for current and new youth activities and campaigns, being ultimately responsible for organising and running the events, workshops, projects publicity opportunities etc.
• Develop strategies to engage with the youth in the community and encourage participation.
• Actively recruit, manage and mentor volunteers to support delivery of projects.
• Actively build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders including community groups, schools and individual community members.
• Proactively seek opportunities for funding through writing project proposals and networking.
• Take the lead in developing materials (online and print) for campaigns including regular updates for Digilab’s website, e-newsletters, blogs, leaflets, reports, briefings etc.
• Establish and maintain appropriate campaign / project monitoring and evaluation systems to measure operational achievements against intended outcomes.
• Ensure sufficient and timely flow of management and operation information to Digilab’s management according to established reporting standards.
• Represent Digilab externally at meetings, events and in the media in conjunction with the Centre Management as needed.
• Ensure close working relationships with other Digilab staff and board members to identify potential areas for improvement, PR and/or new funding opportunities.
