Midsummer Merriment comes to Tooting!
In the midst of national Refugee Week (19th-25th June), comedians Arthur Smith and Paul Sinha will host an evening of merriment and mirth in support of the Tooting-based refugee charity, CARAS. Welcoming comedy guests such as Arielle Souma, this event has been organised with the help of Tooting Market.
CARAS is a charity based in Tooting. Since 2002, it has aimed to welcome, value and support those who have sought refuge in the UK, building a community where refugees and asylum seekers can flourish. Arthur Smith is one of its patrons, helping to celebrate the contribution of refugees and promoting understanding of why people seek sanctuary, which is the purpose of Refugee Week.
‘'We are delighted to bring refugee week to Tooting, sharing an evening of laughter with you in the heart of our local community. All proceeds will go to the work of CARAS, supporting refugees to live freely, safely and as people who are welcome here” said Eleanor Brown, CARAS Director.
This comedy night will take place at Tooting Market on the 22nd of June at 19:30. For tickets, go to https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/midsummer-merriment-tickets-33154416753 or email Etienne Berges at etienne@caras.org.uk, or call 020 8767 5378.
