Refurbishing The Expressing Room at the NNU
The First Touch team is embarking on an ambitious project to revamp the Expressing Room at the neonatal unit at St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
The Expressing Room is a private space with cubicles where mums can express breast milk for their poorly and premature babies who are unable to breast feed and are therefore fed their mum's milk via tube.
Feedback also tells First Touch that this space is where mums chat with each other and share stories, updates and news. The team plan to buy new furniture, new breast pumps, new specialist seating, and, if possible, to reconfigure the room to best utilise the space available.
They also plan to paint the walls in a harmonious colour and decorate the room, ensuring the new cubicle partitions are bright and cheerful. Better wifi reception and new flooring also feature in the plans, making the room as comfortable and welcoming as it can be.
If you are able to make a donation towards this project, First Touch would be extremely grateful. Go to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/expressingroomrefurb to find out more and to donate.
