The Squad is a Thursday night club for people with learning disabilities which runs during term-times in South Wimbledon.
The organisation has been running the club nights for over 22 years and supports under-25's in the 'Juniors' Club and older members in their 'Vets' club. The club nights are a mix of socialising, life-skill training and fun. Many members have been coming since the club first opened, so it’s a vital service to them.
The organisations is almost entirely run by a fantastic team of volunteers who dedicate a lot of their time to the club. However, owing to recent funding cuts, the club’s future is looking uncertain. They've been actively pursuing long-term funding but have launched an emergency fundraising appeal in the interim. The target is £10,000 by November – this would give them 6 months to keep applying for longer-term funding. Your donation, whether small or large, would help towards saving the club and allow them to keep supporting their members in the years to come.
