Celebrate local heroes! BATCA Community Awards 2017
The Balham and Tooting Community Association is launching its sixth Community Award scheme to honour local people of all faiths and cultures who work hard to serve neighbours and the community.
The awards go to those you nominate. Please put forward nominations on the online form at http://batca.org/ch-2017/ by 7th November for those you know who give outstanding service to the community (see further information below). The nominations will be assessed by a panel of independent judges. Awards will be presented on 28th November at a celebratory evening at the Grand Room, 180-186 Upper Tooting Road, SW17 7ER.
The evening is open to all. It will be an evening of celebration, including dinner, entertainment and presentation of the awards by local VIPs. Pre-booking is essential. To book a place, visit http://batca.org/community-heros/. There will be no charge for the evening, but attendees are asked to make a voluntary donation towards the costs of the evening and to support BATCA’s funds.
Making a nomination
You can nominate using this online form. You can nominate anyone of any age from any background. Any field of activity counts, whether helping neighbours, looking after the less fortunate, being inspiring leaders, being stalwarts in a community group or faith body. There will be awards both for individuals and teams. BATCA welcome nominations for both.
BATCA particularly welcome nominations for people who serve modestly with little recognition, and nominations for young people. The awards are primarily for volunteers but those who go ‘above and beyond’ in their paid work can also be nominated.
Nominations must be received by 7th November.
BATCA invite local businesses to sponsor the awards and receive valuable publicity. More information to follow.
