Pumpkin parties and parades in Tooting!

There’ll be not one, but TWO Halloween pumpkin events in Tooting this Sunday, 29 October.

A Pumpkin Party will take place at Tooting Community Garden, 5 North Drive, SW16 1RL, organised by Transition Town Tooting. The event, from 1pm to 3pm, will celebrate all things pumpkin – you can carve your own creations, help make some fresh pumpkin soup and learn how to make delicious damper bread over a fire. All activities are free and suitable for children and adults.

The Friends Of Tooting Common's annual Pumpkin Parade takes place afterwards at 3.30pm to about 5.15pm, by the café. As in previous years, it will include competitions for best pumpkins – in categories funniest, scariest, and most artistic – and for home-made fancy dress. Entry fee for the pumpkin competitions is £2 per pumpkin, with a maximum of £5 per family.
