Tanning tips? In January? Let our Community Partner, Lauren O’Donnell of Lauren O Makeup explain... |
January can be a miserable time of the year. The excitement of Christmas is over, your house just doesn't feel as festive and welcoming – so, why not start afresh and take some more 'ME' time this year and get a quick and easy tan? It’s amazing how great it’ll make you feel in such a short space of time.
Sienna X spray tans are quick, easy treatments that make all the difference to your mood. But why opt for a spray tan? What makes MY Sienna X tan so different?
Sienna X is the go-to spray tan of celebrities, bloggers and most famously, Strictly Come Dancing! It’s full of organic ingredients that ensure each client is left with nourished skin that has a natural glow. This system promotes a bespoke ideal of tanning, with different solutions to fit different skin tones and client needs, so I can tailor the tan to suit you! Clients can choose from a tan that they sleep in (which develops over 8 hours) or a 'tonight’s the night' solution which only needs to stay on for between 2-4 hours. Once tanned, you are left with a guide colour. This can sometimes almost completely wash off in the shower – however, don't despair, the tan continues to develop for another 8 hours after you wash it off. This means you are left with a gorgeous glow that will last 5-7 days!
Tanning in your own home takes the hassle out of dressing after your tan. You can slip your PJs on as I get out of your hair, and then enjoy the rest of your evening! This service is completely mobile so I come with pop-up tent, towels and spray gun so there’s no mess for you to clean up for you when I leave –I promise!
Some tips for before and after your tan to prepare and prolong...
Before your tan
- Exfoliate and moisturise the night before the tan (not on the day of the tan), paying particular attention to elbows, knees, ankles and problem dry areas.
- Paint nails and toenails, especially if artificial.
- Wax/shave at least 24 to 48 hours prior to treatment. This allows time for pores to close. Dotting in pores may appear otherwise.
- Avoid using deodorant and perfume prior to your tan.
After your tan
- Leave the tan to develop for 8-10 hours (unless you have opted for the fast acting tan). Shower until the water runs clear and gently pat dry.
- Avoid excessive exercise, perspiring or getting wet during development.
- Long baths or going swimming will fade your developed tan quicker.
- Remember that sunless tan does not protect you in the sun. Use SPF to avoid burning.
- Moisturise daily to enhance your tan and prolong your colour.
- Start to exfoliate four days after your tan using a body scrub to encourage even fading.
So there you have it! I hope to see you soon to add a summery glow to your life!
