Introducing our newest Community Partner, Tooting-based GRDN, a creative garden design and landscape architecture practice, set up by Paul, Peter, and Andrew. We had a chat with them...

So lads...what do you do?

Hello Tooting Daily PRSS! We provide a complete design, build and maintenance service, enabling us to create sophisticated and quality outdoor spaces. We’re passionate about delivering memorable places, experiences and landscapes through design, detail and collaboration.

We’ve got a wealth of collective experience and a real passion for open spaces. We can design and deliver a fantastic, functional and beautiful space, no matter the size...and we love doing it!

Living in London, we value and understand the importance of making the most of your external space and garden. It can become an extension of your home. We’re really looking forward to sharing our ideas on garden design principles and simple approaches for people to make the most of their garden.

How long have you been in Tooting?

We have been living in Tooting for the past 5 years. The area’s sense of community, diversity and independent shops and restaurants makes it a great place to live and work.

When we have a spare minute you’ll find us in some of our favourite spots – having a beer at By The Horns, a cocktail at Graveney Gin, doing the Castle pub quiz, sitting in the Selkirk beer garden, enjoying a curry at Dosa and Chutney, a burger at Honest Burger, pizza at Franco Manca, or brunch at one of our houses (Pete does fantastic poached eggs)!

Don’t worry, we don’t use up all our spare time eating and drinking! Our job is very physical, so you’ll also find us doing the ParkRun on a Saturday morning at Tooting Bec Common; or if we missed the run we like to play table tennis!

What can Tooting look forward to in your blog?

We’ll be exploring key design principals which we look to convey through each of our projects. These will range from looking at planting structure and combinations, to exploring how to create a sense of place and character within the garden. There will be an emphasis upon functionality and creating seasonal and textural interest. All ideas will be written from a designer’s perspective to give a professional insight.

And of course, feel free to get in touch with us with any questions – details below!
