Labour and Tory Leaders to debate live in Wandsworth
This St George’s Day, Monday 23rd April at 8pm, Wandsworth Radio will broadcast a live radio debate.
The Battle for Wandsworth Debate will be moderated by Wandsworth Radio presenter Craig McAulay and broadcast live from The Exhibit in Balham.
Ravi Govindia, Conservative leader of the council and Simon Hogg, leader of Wandsworth Labour, will have the opportunity to make short opening statements at the beginning of the programme and closing statements at the conclusion of the debate.
During the live debate, the leaders will each answer questions from members of the studio audience, which will be made up of local residents, services, businesses, associations and charities from across the borough.
Representatives from the Wandsworth Green Party, Liberal Democrats and new political party Renew Britain will also take part in the debate. They’ll each get three minutes to discuss their plans for Wandsworth.
Wandsworth Radio Director Jason Rosam said, “Since Wandsworth Radio started three years ago we have been at the heart of local democracy. We’ll be offering our local audience an unrivalled local election service after previously covering two general elections, the Tooting by-election, the London Mayoral and assembly elections and the EU Referendum.”
