A Tooting Mermaid (and Merman) Marathon!
Calling all mermaids and mermen! Tooting resident and chef Sarah Kettel is organising a Mermaid Marathon to raise money for UK Sepsis Trust following the death last October of her good friend Gayner Warner.
The Mermaid Marathon is a team swimming event, with 6 teams of 8 swimmers, headed by a professional mermaid, completing 26.2 miles. Participants will be required to wear a monofin and/or a tail for the swim – these can be hired at the event and full training will be given for a small extra fee to those wanting to learn.
The event takes place on Saturday October 13th, 7:30pm to 10:00pm at Tooting Leisure Centre.
Entry costs £10 and includes:
- all pool fees;
- a medal on completion of your swim;
- a marathon goodie bag containing a drink and a snack.
If you do not have your own fin/tail, hire is an additional £5.
Fees must be paid in full via PayPal (only refundable up to 14 days before the event).
To enter, go to https://goo.gl/forms/w1VF61IFH1xvIZ1k2 and complete the form. Once you've had a place allocated and paid the entry fee, you can join the event on Just Giving and start fundraising. You can also follow the event on Facebook.
