The annual Ritherdon Road Street Party returns this Sunday!

Ritherdon Road Street Party

The annual Ritherdon Road Street Party bursts into life on the border of Tooting and Balham, 11am to 5pm this Sunday 10th June.

The popularity of this event grows and grows every year with great support from the local community and beyond. “The sun shining down on traders, neighbours and customers alike, smiling, face-painted children, full tummies and relaxed parents. What a day! What a day!” recalls Johny of Gallery Midnight of last year’s event.

With the road closed to traffic, local residents and visitors will once again enjoy a fantastic family fun-filled event in front of a parade of boutique independent shops, cafés, restaurants and businesses located in sunny (fingers crossed!) SW17.

Free to enter, the Street Party will feature over 60 food stalls, boutique traders and exhibitors. Hunger pangs will be satisfied by street food experts, local bakeries, chocolate makers, cheese specialists and purveyors of all things tasty and delicious. Accompanying refreshment will be catered for by Harviestoun Brewery, Wandsworth favourites Sambrooks and Simon at Whirly Wines with personally sourced wine and homemade Pimms from his grandad’s recipe!

Visitors can browse the host of boutique market stalls which will be selling everything from flowers to gourmet dog food, hand sewn dresses to jewellery, roll-up beds to children’s clothes, jams to Turkish towels, handbags to wraps and prints to Hawaiian shirts. Or they can visit the road’s regular businesses: Quirky Dovetail, The Dynamo Café, Dee Light Bakery, Foxcroft & Ginger, Number Four, Bodeans and Gallery Midnight for attention grabbing offers and competitions.

DJ Kirk will be providing the grooves throughout the day with local band The Grievous Angels, the fabulous Haywood Sisters and singer/songwriter Rob Doherty providing live music. Elsewhere, Minnie the Clown and Ministry of Giggles will be entertaining children with bubbles and giggles, while a funfair ride and visit from the local fire brigade will be triggering delighted screams amongst children and enthusiastic adults alike.
