Feast on a Tooting-grown & Tooting-cooked lunch!

Feast on a Tooting-grown & Tooting-cooked lunch!

Tooting Foodival 2018 takes place on Saturday 15th September!

Last year the festival had over 500 people indulge in the “Big Feast” – a three course meal cooked by three popular local chefs using only locally grown produce. This year the organisers are promising a “Feast for the Senses” that celebrates local growing, home cooking and general wellbeing for all.

Come and join in the fun, bring your family, friends and neighbours – it’s FREE and all are welcome!

Here is a taste of what’s to come:

Fresh, locally grown produce from home growers, allotment holders and local farmers will be donated the day before the event to be cooked up by local chefs live on Hereward Road.

On the day, let your senses be mesmerised by the array of plants and fresh local produce that will be on display at the festival. Marvel at the diversity of fruit and vegetables that is grown right on our doorstep in Tooting and the surrounding areas.

Limber up your taste buds to the sounds and smells of cooking before feasting on a delicious 3 course meal for just a £1 donation.

Be amazed at the diversity of dishes produced by local cooks, young and old who take part in the Top Tooting Cook competition; enjoy music by local artists, be inspired by the art and crafts of Jeni’s Crafty Art station; learn new skills in gardening, cooking, bee keeping, making, recycling and upcycling by people who are passionate about making the environment a more sustainable place to live and work.

In a drive to highlight the adverse effect plastic has on the planet and marine life, the organisers of Foodival 2018 will designate the area a plastic-free zone.

If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer in preparation or on the day, please email Malsara Thorne at transitiontowntooting@gmail.com.

If you’d like to run a stall on the day, please download the Stall Request form on the Transtion Town Tooting website.

Please share on social media using hashtag #Foodival2018

Foodival will take place on Saturday 15 September, 11am to 5pm at 222 Upper Tooting Rd, London SW17 7EW.
