News from St Nick's in Tooting
Some news from Ed Veale, Pastoral Assistant at St Nicholas Church in Tooting...
You might have noticed all the scaffolding up at St Nicholas – we're having some work done! It's decidedly unglam – a roof tile fixed here; some masonry there etc – and the end result will not be very different to what's been there for the last 180 years or so.
But it looks like a big job! It won’t change any of the things we do during the week, which is mainly: Sunday services over the summer (10.30am with kids activities, and 6pm); and from September – DIGG (Digging Into God's Grace), a weekly group for over 60s – we recently held a 3-day 'Holiday at Home' week, with games, home-cooked lunches, pause for thought, and keep fit (more than 40 locals came along and had a great time); Friday Frogs/Dad & Co (groups for carers and tots) and various others.
We're also looking forward to being part of Tootopia in September with a Sunday afternoon Jazz on the Lawn event for the community on Sunday 23 September, and to getting back into our normal pattern of groups and events. Do come and join us – everyone is welcome!
