A lucky winner of an 18 carat white gold lady’s diamond ring given away by Tooting’s Minar Jewellers, has pledged to give it to her son to hand to his future wife.

The competition ran for 20 days on London-based Asian radio station Lyca Radio where listeners tuned in to guess the jewellery-related missing word in various songs. And yes, ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ was amongst them!

With hundreds of entrants, Minar Jewellers’ Owner and Director Mr Pravin Pattni and his son Jaysal, the Sales and Marketing Manager, headed to the Lyca Radio studios in Canary Wharf on 26th July to draw the prize winner.

Hetal Jhansali was the lucky lady whose name was read out (4m 25s in the video below) and called the station almost immediately to express her joy and stated that she would hand it to her young son, Paarth, to give to his future wife (6m 55s).

Hetal headed to Tooting a few days later to collect her prize in person from Minar Jewellers in a ceremony that was broadcast live on Lyca Radio by presenter Tony Patti. Hetal’s husband, Ajay, placed the ring on her finger (3m in video below) which she then symbolically placed on her son’s finger. Minar owner, Pravin, was so struck by the gesture that he presented Hetal’s son with a silver bracelet as a special surprise.

“The most important thing that she (Hetal) said when she won the prize is that this ring is going to be reserved for her son, Paarth’s, future wife. I think that’s an awesome story and that really brought a lot of emotion in the studio and in the business when we talked about it and so just to complement that, we’ve got a special present for Paarth as well,” said Pravin.

Minar Jewellers ran the competition to promote the fact that they are one of the very few jewellers in London that has diamond specialists on site. “The competition was a great success and beneficial in helping people to understand and take advantage of our expertise in this area and the ethically-sourced bespoke diamond jewellery that we make. We couldn’t have asked for a better story to emerge from our lucky winner,” concluded Pravin.
