Small Change are a group of like-minded people who want to help make a difference to the lives of those in need in South West London by carefully selecting and supporting local charities and outreach groups. Rupert, a founding member, explains...

Small Change started last month in Tooting, and consists of a community of members who are willing to commit one pound a week towards good causes. Every month we will donate all the money collected to a local charity or group, beginning with Little Village, who help new families get the best start in life. 

A core team runs Small Change. We will research charities and decide who to support each month but any member can nominate a cause. We are especially keen to find charities that may fly under the radar and who just manage to scrape by. We will manage the collections and donations and keep members updated on where the money is being donated and how it is being spent. By keeping the focus local and establishing direct links with charities, members will be able to get a first hand account of where their money is going and see the results via the Facebook page. 

Although the focus will be local, there will be flexibility to respond to national and international issues if appropriate.
