Tooting’s Business Launchpad (BLP) offers free business support & counselling to local young entrepreneurs aged 16-30. In a new series, BLP’s Operations & Events Co-ordinator Tashauna O’Connor will be profiling some of the great startup businesses that they work with!

First off, she introduces 2-3 Degrees, who aim to be the catalyst for putting personal development on the education curriculum. Take it away Tashauna...

Carl Konadu and Azzees Minott have built their careers spreading the word that “a goal without a plan is just a wish.” Founders of 2-3 Degrees, they provide mindset workshops for young people and motivational seminars that are open to all.

2-3 Degrees focus on the development of three core skills: resilience, communication and self-esteem. The programmes specialise in developing confidence and interpersonal skills and encourage young people to learn from their mistakes, seeing failure as “a stepping stone to success rather than a permanent mark.”

Carl and Azzees champion peer support as the tool for their achievements of 1st Class University Degrees.

Founding 2-3 Degrees with the help of Business Launchpad has enabled their organisation to increase the impact of the work that they do with young people.

“Six months into starting our business we were in an incubator programme at the BLP office. Being in the BLP community and attending their events was huge, as the advice and support we received was invaluable in growing and learning,” says Carl.

Business Launchpad have been Tooting residents for 30 years and help over 200 young people across London start their own businesses every year. They work specifically with young people who may be vulnerable, promoting the principle that “ideas are free but it is hard work that will get you there.”

You can see how 2-3 Degrees can inspire and help you motivate a young person you know by visiting their website. Carl Konadu’s ‘Goals to Greatness’ seminar is now sold out, but do keep an eye on the 2-3 Degrees website for their Events Calendar and the dates of the ‘Mastering Your Future’ Programme from February to June.

You can also follow 2-3 Degrees on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
