Community conference for the Wandsworth voluntary sector

Community conference for the Wandsworth voluntary sector

Kavita Bowry, Communications and Development Manager at Share Community has some exciting news for the Wandsworth voluntary sector!

Voluntary organisations in Wandsworth, including Share Community, have been working together over the past few months to campaign for better support of the voluntary and community sector in the borough.

We’re therefore very excited to announce the date for a conference – Looking Forward Together – to be held on Wednesday 15th May 2019 which will, for the first time in recent memory, bring together voluntary groups to talk about getting stronger together.

The event is a chance to meet up with other local organisations, key people from Wandsworth Council and NHS, funders and people who can help you to be your best in challenging times. The conference is organised by a broad alliance of voluntary sector organisations, supported by Wandsworth’s Voluntary Sector Coordination Project.

Sessions at the event will include workshops and talks about fundraising, getting and keeping volunteers, building great management committees and boards, and much more.

If you are a local voluntary or community organisation and would like to get involved and build closer links with others in the borough of Wandsworth, join Share on 15th May 2019 at the PCS Union Building, 160 Falcon Rd, London SW11 2LN, in Clapham Junction from 12 noon to 5pm. The event is free to attend but numbers are limited so register now via Eventbrite.

To find out more about the event, contact Share's CEO, Annie McDowall, via email or telephone 020 7801 8917.

Share Community is a registered charity that provides training and employment support for disabled adults, including those with learning disabilities, autism, physical/sensory impairments and mental health needs.
