Local charity seeks donations for Mother's Day
Local organisation Little Village, is seeking donations of small gifts for mums as part of its Mother’s Day Campaign, #MumsMatter
Little Village, which covers Tooting, Balham, and other parts of Wandsworth, is like a foodbank but provides baby equipment, clothes and toys to families in need who are referred by health professionals.
The mums Little Village supports are often raising their kids in very difficult circumstances – dealing with issues like low income, poor housing, insecure work, and violent partners. With every penny being spent on essentials like food and bills, many are unable to buy treats for themselves, which is why Little Village is asking for donations of gifts like nice shower gel, body or hand lotion, nail varnish and foot cream.
They will be gifting out these items around Mother’s Day, and to the mums that they see during the year.
If you’d like to donate any treat toiletries, you can drop them off on Tuesday or Thursday mornings, 9.30-12pm at Little Village, St Mark’s Church, 53 Rowfant Road, Balham SW17 7AP. Alternatively, you can order items from their Amazon wishlist which will be delivered directly to them: http://amzn.eu/a8Z0yaR
