Happy Mother’s Day from Ronald McDonald House Tooting!

Mother's Day

On Mother’s Day, the team at Ronald McDonald House Tooting – a ‘home away from home’ for families with seriously sick children in St George’s Hospital – honoured the amazing mums staying at the Tooting House and at their Houses across the UK. Here’s Mo with more...

Mother’s Day can often be difficult when you have a sick child in hospital and for some it was their first Mother’s Day as a parent. To make it extra special, we worked with our local supporters to treat our mums.

Amazing volunteers from St George’s Hospital University community project were busy fundraising for Mother’s Day gifts and with their contribution, we were able to buy photo frames, which our creative volunteers personalised, alongside arranging beautiful flowers in jars for all the mums.

We want to say a huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers, because without their support we wouldn’t have been able to create these special mementos for our families.

Ronald McDonald House Tooting opened in 2006 and since then the House has supported over 1,300 families.

“Without the House, I don’t know how we would have coped. Not only was the accommodation much needed, but the support from staff and other families was invaluable,” said Courtney and Daniel after staying with us in 2017.

We are always looking for volunteers and local businesses to help us with amazing events like the Mother’s Day celebrations throughout the year. If you are interested, please get in touch – You can find out more about us on our website and follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
