Garden party time in Tooting!

Garden party time in Tooting!

Kavita Bowry, Communications and Development Manager at Share Community (who run the Share Community Garden and Nurseries in Tooting) is excited about the annual Garden Party!

It’s summer time, which means it’s party time! Yes, the Share Summer Garden Party is upon us and everyone is invited!

Join us on Thursday 27th June 2019, from 11am to 3pm in the Share Garden in Tooting for fun and games, music and dance, a delicious lunch and, of course, gorgeous plants for sale – all grown by Share students.

Share Community has been gardening in Tooting for almost 25 years, providing horticulture training for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.

Last year, this work led to the launch of Share Nurseries, our gardening social enterprise, a local garden nursery which sells plants, produce and garden creations.

We’re passionate about teaching horticulture. And our garden provides a tranquil haven for our students to learn new skills and enjoy the benefits of horticulture therapy. Share Nurseries is an embodiment of that ethos where we support our students to learn work-based skills in a safe environment while serving the community in which we all live and work.

Community remains at the heart of everything we do at Share, and Share Nurseries reflects that – a community resource, serving local people, supporting our students to realise their full potential.

Join us on 27th June to celebrate the best of that community – register online, email or telephone 020 7924 2949 now to book your place.

If you can’t make the event, don’t forget Share Nurseries, which is based in Share's beautiful 2.5-acre garden in the grounds of Springfield University Hospital, is open to the public year round, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 3pm, for plant sales.

Share Community is a registered charity that provides training and employment support for disabled adults, including those with learning disabilities, autism, physical/sensory impairments and mental health needs.
