Tooting & Mitcham FC in the Surrey Senior Cup Final!
The final of the Specsavers Surrey Senior Cup Final will take place at 7:45pm on Tuesday 7th May at Meadowbank Stadium.
The competition, now in its 137th year, sees Metropolitan Police take on Tooting & Mitcham United for the chance to lift the coveted trophy. It will be the first time that the fixture has taken place at Surrey FA’s brand new, state-of-the-art facility, Meadowbank Stadium in Dorking.
Metropolitan Police have been giant-killers in the competition this year, overcoming defending champions Merstham on their way to the final. Tooting & Mitcham had to overcome Banstead Athletic in the semi-final, a team that knocked out Woking and AFC Wimbledon earlier in the competition.
The two sides have form in the competition. The Met are bidding for their third Senior Cup title, whilst Tooting & Mitcham are aiming to hit double figures with a tenth victory. Met Police emerged champions as recently as 2015, but it has been a longer wait for Tooting & Mitcham, who last took the trophy home in 2007, where they beat tonight’s opposition 4-1.
