Annual Peace Symposium In Tooting
The Tooting Chapter of The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association is to host its annual Peace Symposium in Tooting on Sunday 17th November 2019.
More than 150 guests will attend the event, including parliamentarians, police officers, faith and civic leaders, as well as representatives from numerous charities and community groups.
The theme of this year’s event is “The Critical Need For Peace.” The Peace Symposium aims to promote a deeper understanding of Islam and other faiths and seeks to inspire a concerted effort for lasting peace. Community service awards will also be presented at the event.
Shakeel Ahmed, Regional President of Tooting, said, “The Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) love for humanity knew no bounds and all who were around him knew this. It was this unbounded love that won him their hearts and minds and souls and helped him transform them from bedouins buried in the earth into spiritual beings capable of soaring to the highest pinnacles of spiritual advancement. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) desired to serve everyone. It did not matter to him whether the person in need was Muslim or non-Muslim. I shall make it absolutely clear that Islam does not permit cruelty or oppression in any way, shape or form. This is an injunction that is absolute and without exception.”
The event will take place at The Classic Banqueting Suite, 28 Upper Tooting Rd, SW17 7PG from 5:15 pm to 9pm on Sunday 17th November 2019. For more information, email Shakeel Ahmed at syedsahmed09@gmail.com
