Update on interrupted gas supply in Tooting
An update on SGN’s efforts to restore gas supplies in Tooting. Posted Friday 13th March, 8am.
- SGN have restored gas to 550 homes, across 17 streets.
- They’ve pumped more than 82,000 litres of water (and sludge) from their pipes so far.
- They still have more water to remove, but they’re very much hoping to restore gas supplies to the majority of homes by Friday evening.
- Their Customer Service team has been at Tooting Leisure Centre between 8am and 10pm every day, giving advice to residents. They’ve also been giving electric hot plates and heaters to affected residents to help make life a little easier while they’re without gas.
- Tooting Leisure Centre continues to offer its shower facilities to residents while they’re off gas.
- All affected residents will receive compensation for every day they’ve been without gas. It’s £30 for each 24 period off gas and it’s paid automatically by energy suppliers. Residents don’t need to worry about claiming, it’ll appear as a credit on their next bill.
- SGN’s Customer Service team are at Aboyne Community Clubroom in Deeside Road from 8am today.
