Tooting Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and CS7 information

Wandsworth Council are currently trialling Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTN) in Tooting. Planters and signs acting as 'modal filters' – which prevent motor vehicle access but allow enough space for bicycles to pass through – are being installed in several areas. The measures are being introduced on a trial basis, and will be monitored and evaluated to test their effectiveness. Wandsworth Council are welcoming feedback from local residents as it will help to determine if the pilot schemes are to be retained or withdrawn.

The measures are being put in place around parts of Graveney ward, as well as residential streets in and around Fishponds Road and Beechcroft Road, with another LTN around Tooting Common. For full details, including a list of modal filters, points of no entry and turning restrictions, plus a link to the consultations page where you can submit your opinion, see the council website.

Transport For London are running a separate scheme to upgrade Cycle Superhighway 7, as part of a plan to create a cycle corridor to follow the Northern line from Colliers Wood to Elephant & Castle, which include new segregated cycle lanes, changes to pedestrian footways and bus stops, and turning restrictions. For full details, plus how you can comment on these changes, please see the TfL website.
